WHAT CAN GO WRONG

I have been firing pottery for a long time, getting to know exactly what temperature works for the glazes I use, testing, testing, more testing. Then, Bam, this happens, specifically to an order. Closing the kiln and pretending all is well I go through all the checks. Check controller, no issues, check elements, no issues, check ventilation, nope, all good.

Programme for stoneware, ahh, maybe that was the issue, this was not stoneware, perhaps it was the wrong bisque. That is literally the only reason why this would happen! This particular group of unsavable wonky-ware is now sitting in my studio, waiting for me to gather the courage to try and save my kiln shelf. Another task entirely and a subject for another day. By the way, I had to remake the order in record time, which was successfully delivered, how, who knows, the kiln and creative gods were on my side!
